Shalda Creek Opening

On August 8/24/2020, the Shalda Creek diversion was closed.  That created a back up on the creek which caused the LTL level to go up slightly.  The contractor started opening the diversion wall on 8/24.  They started with a small upstream removal and today are removing the downstream wall.  The creek should be running through the new bridge today.  The contractor expects all work to be done by September 4, 2020.

Swimmers Itch Database

At the suggestion of Beth Stephens to keep a record of swimmers itch on LTL, we now have a link on our website which allows you to map and log any cases of swimmers itch on LTL.  To record your case of swimmers itch, go to the Association website and click on "Water Quality".  Scroll down and click on "Map Your Itch".  Another site will open which allows you to log your case of swimmers itch and view other cases.  Please try to record all cases so we can get a better idea of the severity of swimmers itch on our lake.

Zoom Meeting Recorded

The Zoom meeting that took place on Saturday July 11 was recorded so that anyone who missed it may view it at their leisure.  To watch this very interesting and informative presentation go to the Association website, click on "Water Quality" and then click on "7/11/2020 Zoom Meeting".  You can also view the actual database by clicking on "Water Quality Database".

Lake Levels

After weeks of negotiations with the NPS, they finally agreed to allow us to take out the beaver dam between TLR and CR-669.  The dam was removed at 1:30 PM.  By 6:00 PM the outlet of the TLR culvert has dropped almost 3".  We should see some relief from the high lake levels in a few days.

Happy New Year - Record Lake Level - Winterfest Dinner

The lake level at TLR inlet is at 594.98 which is the highest in many years.  We have rain, snow, melting and generally high lake levels throughout the county.  Fortunately, the lake is frozen so wave erosion is not a factor. Please be aware.

The annual Winterfest dinner is scheduled for Saturday February 15, 2020.  Mark your calendars.  Details to come.
